Here is the complete Upcoming Marvel Movies and TV Shows Release Schedule you need to know for 2025 and beyond. The MCU is getting into the spooky spirit with Marvel Zombies, an animated Disney+ series. Zombified versions of MCU heroes like Wanda Maximoff and the amnesiac Vision are sure to wreak havoc.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams, a super powered actor with a super secret in Wonder Man. The TV show will also feature MCU alums such as Jeremy Renner and Danny Glover.
Phase 6
There’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to Marvel Phase Six. The first film of the new phase, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, will debut in July 2025. The movie is reportedly part of the Multiverse Saga and will see the return of the first family to the big screen after a disastrous reboot in 2009. The Fantastic Four: First Steps stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Mission: Impossible’s Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (AKA The Thing) and Stranger Things’ Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (AKA Human Torch).
The film is expected to be darker than its predecessor and take us on an adventure across various dimensions in the Marvel multiverse. In addition to the First Family, fans will likely see Ms. Marvel, Black Panther, Okoye, and the other heroes from Wakanda and the Eternals. The movie will reportedly also introduce us to Yelena Boleva, America Chavez, and Shang-Chi, as well as villains like Red Guardian, The Hood, and Galactus.
Other movies in the slate include Ant-Man and the Wasp and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the vigilante The Punisher in a standalone TV series on Disney+. Black Panther 3 is also on the way, with director Ryan Coogler writing and directing the sequel to his megahit.
Unlike the last two phases, which had too many films, this one will have fewer movies and TV shows. That will free up the studio to focus more on popular characters and ensure that the projects are well made.
Some of those TV shows will be original and others will be reimagined versions of existing franchises. The most notable change is that Armor Wars, a limited series starring Don Cheadle as James Rhodes / War Machine, will now be a movie instead of a TV show. The change is the result of a shift in strategy by Marvel Studios, which will concentrate on big-ticket properties like Spider-Man and the core Avengers lineup, while leaving the smaller, less-popular characters to other outlets.
Disney+
Marvel Studios took a breather in 2024, releasing just one major movie (Deadpool & Wolverine) and a couple of TV shows (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Echo). But the studio is back to its whirlwind pace this year, with nine movies and TV series set to debut. That includes a pair of retooled Avengers movies, including the return of Robert Downey Jr as a villainous Doctor Doom and the premiere of a mainline Miles Morales Spider-Man film that will tie into the MCU canon.
The big upcoming movie is Captain America: Brave New World, written by FWS alum Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson with director Julius Onah. It sees Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) fighting the good fight without the aid of the Avengers, who have disbanded in the wake of Endgame. This time around, the hero will be joined by Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, who told Sam in FAWS that the US would never accept a Black superhero, and Shira Haas as Israeli superhero Sabra.
On the TV side, Charlie Cox is back as Matt Murdock for a ninth season of Daredevil. It’s not the same timeline as the current Netflix show, but it still ties into the larger Marvel universe thanks to appearances by alternate versions of Iron Man, Thaddeus Ross and Doctor Strange.
Elsewhere on the Disney+ lineup, we’ll get a first look at a series that puts Marvel heroes in a zombie outbreak. Described as an “anthology” by the streaming service, this eight-episode show stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen as Simon Williams, whose business collapses when Stark Industries withdraws funding, leading him to team up with Baron Zemo (David Harbour). The voice cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Paul Rudd, Hailee Steinfeld, Iman Vellani, Wyatt Russell and Dominique Thorne.
Future MCU
After the end of Avengers: Infinity War and a long, winding journey through the Multiverse, Marvel will reportedly return to a more traditional superhero narrative with a new film called Doomsday. Previously known as Avengers 4, the project has seen some major changes. At SDCC 2024, Feige announced that Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo would helm the movie, which will introduce the character of Doctor Doom. It will also see Robert Downey, Jr. return as the infamous villain, and it’s believed the story will focus on how the Multiverse’s incursions are managed.
It’s not clear how the Doomsday plot will tie into the existing MCU timeline, but it should work alongside 2023’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and 2026’s Avengers: Endgame. The final scene of the former saw Tom Holland’s Peter Parker have Doctor Strange erase his memories and force him to start over from square one. The latter, meanwhile, will see the team reassemble to take down Thanos once and for all, which could include Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani); Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld); Cassandra Lang — aka Stinger (Katherine Langford); RiRi Williams – a.k.a. Ironheart (Dominique Thorne); and even the resurrected Bill Haley — a.k.a. Patriot (Elijah Richardson).
The House of Ideas isn’t done playing with what-if scenarios, though. For Halloween 2025, it will release Marvel Zombies, a special that shows us a world overrun by zombified heroes – including monstrous versions of Wakanda’s Dora Milaje. And in 2025, we’ll also get a four-part miniseries called Wonder Man, co-created by Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. This series will fall under the Marvel Spotlight banner, which means it should be more focused on the character than the wider MCU narrative.
