As the Doomsday event approaches, fans are hoping that the writers will introduce a new hero to the MCU. While a hero like Nova isn’t likely to appear in the movie, there could be some hope for the TV series that was recently put on hold. A writer for the film reveals his dream casting choice for the Nova series on Disney+.
The MCU already has a lot going on right now, but Marvel Studios isn’t done with the expansion just yet. The company is working on a number of shows for the Disney+ streaming service, including a Nova series. The character of Nova has significant ties to the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers, making it an intriguing addition to the MCU.
However, the Nova series was reportedly put on hold this past February. It’s not clear what caused the delay, but it is possible that the show may be retooled as a movie instead. In that case, it would be a shame to lose an actor with the talent of Ethan Herisse.
Herisse broke out as Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but he’s also starred in Attack the Block and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. He’s an exciting young talent with a wide range of acting skills, and he could be a perfect fit for the role of Richard Rider. Herisse excels at playing cocky characters with a chip on their shoulder, and that would make him an ideal hero for Nova.
He’d Be A Great Nova
Herisse also starred in the 2024 breakout hit Nickel Boys, where he gave a stunning performance as Elwood. The movie is a bit difficult to watch, but Herisse shines in the few moments that he’s on screen. His talent and charisma will be a huge asset to any project he’s a part of, including the Nova series.
Dylan O’Brien has appeared in major blockbusters like Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Detective Pikachu, as well as smaller movies like Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. He’s also got a ton of experience with action scenes and special effects, which will make him a natural for the role of Nova. He’s also good at portraying high-strung anxiety, which would make him a perfect choice for Nova.
He’d Be Great As A Young Nova
O’Brien has proven he can handle big action roles, and he’s also very talented at delivering MCU-style quips. He’d be a great hero for a younger Nova, who is still learning to control his new powers. He’d bring a refreshing young energy to the team, and his ability to convey emotion in action scenes will make him a solid hero for any story.
