The Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios are creating one of the highest-stakes stories in their history with Avengers Doomsday. The film will bring together heroes and villains from the MCU as well as X-Men characters from Fox’s mutant films.
Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic, Lewis Pullman’s Sentry, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm, David Harbour’s Red Guardian, and Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will be joined by Channing Tatum’s Gambit.
Namor
The Sub-Mariner possesses a wide range of abilities that allow him to control the seas. His renowned strength and a ability to breathe both air and water make him a formidable force on land and at sea.
He allied with surface world heroes during World War II, including the Human Torch and Steve Rogers (AKA Captain America).
Namor has clashed with several other Atlanteans, including ruthless warlord Attuma, the mind-controlled Krang, and his lover Lady Dorma. M’Baku has compared the Sub-Mariner’s power level to the Hulk’s.
Mystique
Mystique is one of the most powerful mutants in the comics and has a wide array of abilities. She is a master of disguise, able to make herself look completely different and can compress her body into nearly two-dimensional form for long distance travel.
She is an ally of Mister Sinister and Magneto, and the leader of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. She frequently clashes with the X-Men and sometimes works with them as well.
She has also been known to be an Omega-level mutant (although a recent retcon revealed that her ability to mimic other people’s X-Genes is what keeps her from reaching this level). Mystique is the foster mother of Rogue.
Ghost
The superhero known as Ghost is a saboteur with the ability to render herself invisible. She has hired herself out to corporations and other organizations, such as Norman Osborn’s Thunderbolts, in order to destroy them.
Luca Maresca designed this version of Ghost for the movie, drawing clear inspiration from Hannah John-Kamen’s MCU portrayal and her comic-book iterations. Like Egghead, this character is seeking revenge against the heroes who indirectly caused her parents’ death. She is also Bill Foster’s surrogate daughter. She can track down the team by observing their movements.
Red Guardian
Russian test pilot Alexei Shostakov’s heroism caught the eye of the KGB, who assigned him the Red Guardian identity as their answer to Captain America. He and his wife, Black Widow, both served the Red Room until the Black Widow defected to the Avengers.
The Red Guardians have superhuman strength, agility, and hand-to-hand combat skills. They can also fire a metal disc from their belts that magnetically returns to them when thrown. The Nikolai Krylenko incarnation of the character also has moderate levels of cybernetic physicality.
Loki
Loki is an expert sorcerer with the ability to create illusions and manipulate matter. He can also use his powers to amplify the abilities of others.
He has the power of levitation and can augment his natural Frost Giant and Asgardian abilities with mystical energies. He can also transmute matter by manipulating the molecules. He also has the ability to teleport. He once teleported himself and a fully-suited Iron Man onto the Helicarrier.
Captain America
Captain America has the ability to deflect or block incoming bullets with his shield. He was injected with Erskine’s serum, making him the pinnacle of human athleticism.
Cap has an unwavering sense of duty and is at his happiest when helping others. He’s also the leader of the Avengers and will make sure everyone is on the same page.
Mackie was confirmed for the film during Marvel’s live stream event. Harbour was also confirmed, as well as Lewis Pullman, Joseph Quinn, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, and Pedro Pascal.
Thor
The God of Thunder carries Mjolnir, the enchanted warhammer that enhances his abilities. The son of Odin, the king of Asgard, Thor has superhuman strength and enhanced longevity.
He possesses magical attacks, including element manipulation and weather control, due to his Asgardian roots. For example, he can unleash lightning from his hands and exhale hurricane-force breath or manipulate tectonic plates to create avalanches, earthquakes, landslides, and chasms beyond what natural phenomenon can offer.
Ant-Man
Overcoming his criminal past, Scott Lang now carries on the legacy of Hank Pym as the size-changing hero known as Ant-Man.
Lang has a daughter, Cassie, who admires him as a hero. He works to earn her respect and is driven by the desire to prove that he deserves her affection.
Lang has trained an army of ants that help him on missions and serve as a sounding board for his decisions. They’ve even helped him fight an alternate version of Thanos. He’s also able to shrink down to microscopic levels.
Black Widow
Black Widow is a top-tier spy with years of training in espionage, stealth, disguise, and infiltration. She is multilingual, highly skilled in martial arts, and a master seductress. She was augmented in the Red Room with a Soviet version of Super Soldier serum that conveys superior speed, reflexes, endurance and strength, allows her to heal from injuries that would kill normal humans, and dramatically retards her aging.
She is also an expert hacker and a field commander. In Civil War, she was the only Avenger to switch sides and join Team Captain America.
Hawkeye
Hawkeye is the world’s greatest marksman with military-level shooting and fighting abilities. He’s also a seasoned tactician who can lead a team of Avengers, including rogues like Bullseye and the psychotic Crosseye.
He’s fought extraterrestrial aliens, interdimensional threats, and ferocious foes that dwarfed his powers. He’s even survived being captured and averted a murderous plot by the villainous Black Widow. He’s a true hero.
