Avengers Doomsday teaser Disney D23 2025 has finally arrived. The directors of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame reunite to direct Doomsday, which sees the villain take over the Multiverse. Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd and Tom Hiddleston will reprise their roles, with new additions like Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Simu Liu, Danny Ramirez and Florence Pugh joining the cast.
Highlights
Disney and Marvel Studios treated fans at Destination D23 2025 with both a hype reel teaser and a behind-the-scenes set video for Avengers: Doomsday. While neither included new footage, they did a great job of tying together threads from Phases 4-6 and hinting at Multiversal incursions that put life itself on the line, much like the comic book events that inspired the film.
The Russo Brothers delivered the teaser via a video message, shot on location at the Doomsday set in London. They stressed that the film will bring heroes from across the Multiverse together in unprecedented ways. This roster will reportedly include members of the X-Men, Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four alongside the New Avengers and Wakandans.
The teaser cleverly mixes up famous lines from previous MCU and Fox-era movies to get audiences excited for a story with redemption, competition and high stakes. It also suggests that Downey will deliver a Doom more in line with the wise Latvian tyrant he’s played throughout decades of Marvel history, rather than the unstoppable juggernaut of the Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The teaser also hints that the film will be bigger than any of the Russo brothers have ever worked on before. It ends with a re-recording of Chadwick Boseman’s rousing “Yibambe!” shout from Black Panther, an audible reference to the same call for unity that rang out as Thanos descended on Earth in Infinity War.
Multiverse Heroes
At Disney’s Destination D23 2025 event, the Russo Brothers reportedly showed fans a “hype reel teaser” and a behind-the-scenes set video of Avengers: Doomsday. This led to netizens speculating that they saw the film’s official trailer at the event. However, this rumor was quickly debunked by The Direct, which attended the event and confirmed that attendees only saw a hype teaser.
The teaser featured a rapid montage of footage and dialogue to build up excitement for the movie’s confirmed cast members and characters. The teaser notably highlighted Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America, and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. It also highlighted other MCU franchise actors like Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova / Black Widow), Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Letitia Wright as Shuri / Black Panther. In addition, the film teased potential new additions or allies like Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), Winston Duke (M’Baku), Tenoch Huerta Mejia (Namor), Danny Ramirez (Falcon), and Lewis Pullman as Bob/Sentry.
The teaser also highlighted a possible glimpse of Benedict Wong’s new Sorcerer Supreme character, Wong, beaten up on a snowy planet that looks a lot like Hoth in the Star Wars movies. This could be a sign that the multiverse threat that Doctor Strange created in No Way Home has caused damage to Kamar-Taj, or perhaps the wider universe.
Avengers Doomsday Teaser

During the event, directors Joe and Anthony Russo offered a brief video message and teased the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. This teaser reportedly also included a rapid montage that incorporated footage and dialogue that spotlighted the confirmed cast members for the movie.
This sizzle reel reportedly included the likes of Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Falcon/Captain America), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Letitia Wright (Shuri), among many others. In addition, the sizzle reel featured quotes from a number of returning MCU actors, including Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange).
The teaser’s rapid montage also featured footage and dialogue from the previous Marvel movies that featured the stars in those roles. For example, Sir Ian McKellen reprised his role as Magneto in this new footage. The sizzle reel also incorporated dialogue from the Fox X-Men Universe stars, including James Marsden as Cyclops and Rebecca Romijn as Raven Darkholme/Mystique. This was likely done to showcase the crossovers that will take place once Disney’s acquisition of Fox is completed.
The sizzle reel also reportedly included the chant of “Yibambe” from Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, which could hint at a future appearance from the Wakandan hero. This chant is often used as a call to action, and it would be a fitting anthem for this movie’s focus on multiverse incursions.
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor Tease
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a behemoth that constantly releases new movies in theaters and on Disney+, where fans can stream them all for one low price. However, the franchise has a special place in its heart for the OG Avengers who have been around since the beginning. With that in mind, rumors have been swirling about Hemsworth possibly hanging up his hammer for good after the next two Avengers films.
The actor recently shared a video on social media entitled “Thank You! The Legacy of Thor,” which caused a stir among many fans as it seemed to be a goodbye. The clip featured clips and behind-the-scenes footage from Hemsworth?s MCU tenure, including shots from the four solo Thor movies and Avengers films.
In addition, the message Hemsworth wrote under the video reads, “And I’ll continue to cherish every moment as we walk into this future.” While the message could be interpreted in different ways, many fans have taken it to mean that Hemsworth will be saying his last farewell to the role as soon as filming wraps on the next Avengers movie.
Of course, this is all speculation as Hemsworth hasn?t officially confirmed his status for Doomsday or the subsequent two films. But with the way the franchise has already capped off the arcs of Black Widow, Iron Man, and Captain America, it would make sense to do the same for Thor by killing him off in Doomsday or Secret Wars.
